Death Notice of Hattie "Hat" Braun

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at The Village Manor, St. Jacobs on Friday, May 1st, 2015. Hattie Isabelle Braun, formerly of Durham, in her 94th year. Hattie was a vibrant and charismatic lady and will be forever remembered by her grandchildren, Stan Mance and his wife Christine and Sylvia Mance and her husband Bob Weber. Great-grandmother - "Funny Grandma" to Alexander, Eric and Victoria. Dear sister of Reta Black and Vernon Brown and his wife Elva. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her daughter Maxine Mance, her son-in-law Steve Mance, her life partner John Clark, her identical twin sister Roberta, and her brothers Elmer, John, Stan and Mel. Special thanks to Dr. Donna Ward, Wesley and Debbie Moore and the wonderful staff at The Village Manor Retirement Home.

A celebration of Hattie's life will be held at Knox United Church, Durham on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment at Durham Cemetery.

Hattie had a deep lifelong passion and love for monkeys, the family would appreciate memorial donations to Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary where they rescue, care and have rehabilitation for monkeys. Donations may be made by contacting the McCulloch-Wa
