Joyce Harrison

Joyce Muriel Harrison (nee Paylor), of Durham, passed away at Strathcona Long Term Care, Mount Forest on Monday, December 18th, 2023 in her 76th year. Beloved wife of Tom Harrison. Loving mother of Katherine and her husband Shawn Steele, and Jason Harrison and his wife Coralea. Cherished grandmother of Natasha, Crystal, Dawson, and Dalton, and great-grandmother of 5. Dear sister of Wilfred and Brenda Paylor, Lauretta Steer, Lorraine and Mark Guthrie, Peter Paylor, and Ralph and Laurie Paylor. Joyce is fondly remembered by her in-laws Melva Paylor, Douglas McKelvey, Beverly Harrison, Bernice and her husband Ted McCausland, Percy Harrison and his wife Fay, and Barb Harrison and her partner Nancy Griffin, and by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Earl and Minetta (Webber) Paylor, her brothers Earl Paylor, Kenneth Paylor, David Paylor, Royden Paylor, Keith Paylor, her sisters Roberta McKelvey and Rosie Paylor, in infancy, her parents-in-law John and Jean Harrison, and her sister-in-law Linda Harrison. 

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Friday, December 22nd from 7 – 9 p.m. In respect of Joyce’s wishes there will be no service. 

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
