Ada Styles

Ada Laurine Styles (nee Aljoe), longtime resident of Durham, passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of Harry Styles for 67 years. Loving mother of Randy Styles, Luanne and her husband Mike Hayes, Patricia Styles, Carolyn Styles, and Angela and her husband John Bryan. Proud grandmother of Candice, Leah (Greg), Brilyn (Andrew), Darcy (Kirby), Lindsay (Kyle), Evan (Tiffany), Troy, Jodi (Jamie), Jessica (Matt), Emily (Michael), Jacob, Matthew, and Matayia and proud great-grandmother of 14. Dear sister of Sharon Burgess, Beatrice and Harmut Ridderbusch, Helen Smith, and sister-in-law of Betty Aljoe. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Pam Styles, her siblings Evelyn Patterson, Vernon Aljoe, Lorna Zaduk, William Aljoe, Arthur Aljoe, Norma Barrett, Murray Aljoe, and Doreen Fryer. Ada adored her family and her family was her life. She was a hard worker, she was a mainstay at the Riviera Restaurant in Durham, she operated the cafeteria at Durham Furniture, and she was a longtime member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

A memorial service celebrating Ada’s life will be held at the Durham Legion, 271 Bruce Street North, Durham on Thursday, December 28th at 2 p.m., with visitation prior to the service from 12 – 1:45 p.m. Spring interment of cremated remains at Durham Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or SickKids Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
