Death Notice of Harry Johnson

Harry James Johnson, of Holstein, passed away at the Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Sunday, December 24th, 2023 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Marion (nee Leach) for 61 years. Loving father of Dawn and her husband Tim Murdock, Pat and her husband Dennis Campbell, Jim Johnson and his wife Crystal, and Kristy and her husband Victor Jarvis all of Durham. Cherished grandfather of Charleen and her husband Chris Talbot, Stephanie Hunt and her partner Josh Harrison, Phillicia Hunt and her partner Josh McGibbon, Tyler Murdock and his wife Shannon, Jamie Campbell and his partner Kelsey Walker, Harrison Campbell and his wife Kathryn, Ken Campbell and his wife Robyn, Tamara Campbell and her partner Bryce Swift, Alethia Campbell, Cassandra Johnson and her partner Alex Tarbush, Noah Johnson and his partner Hope Diebold, Christopher Jarvis, Victoria Jarvis and her partner Dominic Lippert, and Lilian Jarvis. Great-grandfather of 14. Dear brother of Thomas Johnson, Arthur Johnson and his wife Julie, Elizabeth and her husband Edward Leno, and Linda and her husband Paul Gilmore. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ivan and Reita (nee Glenholme) Johnson, his sister Mary Lou and her late husband Wayne Galbraith, his sister-in-law Carol Johnson, and his son-in-law Don Campbell.

Harry and his wife and best friend, Marion, lived and farmed on the 2nd of Egremont for 59 years. They raised with love 4 children by birth and numerous others. Their door was always open, lunch and drinks provided. They operated several businesses including the Lip 'n John Mini Track, Johnson Roofing and Eavestroughing as well as H & A Wreckers. 

A funeral service celebrating Harry’s life will be held at the Durham Community Centre, 451 Saddler Street West, Durham on Friday, December 29th at 1 p.m., with visitation being held prior to the service from 11 – 12:45 p.m. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Durham Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
