Death Notice of Carl Wall

Carl Anthony Wall, of Durham, passed away at the Brightshores Health System, Wiarton, on Thursday, January 11th, 2024 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Marilyn Dickson. Dear brother of Elizabeth Krochak and her husband Ron, and Cathy Wall. Brother-in-law of Robert Dickson and his wife Judy, Ronald Dickson and his partner Ruth Ditner, Sharon and her husband Dennis Pegelo, and Kerry and her husband Lyle Pratt. Fondly remembered by his nieces Katie Ouellette, Dana Parker, Nicole Dowd and their families. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Maureen Wall.  Carl will also be missed by his four-legged companion, Skipper.

Carl had a wide range of interests which led him to buy many books, videos and equipment before getting involved with operating ham radios, windsurfing, hang-gliding, bee-keeping, flying kites, gliders and remote controlled airplanes, and performing magic tricks. He extended his earlier musical ability playing the flute, to recently taking guitar lessons.

Upon his retirement from CTV, Carl was happy to leave Toronto and with Marilyn, adopt a quieter lifestyle in Durham. 

During the Covid pandemic he applied technical skills and knowledge,  to record weekly services at Knox United Church, Durham.

Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, 166 Bruce Street North, Durham on Thursday, January 18th from 3 – 7 p.m.   A memorial service celebrating Carls life will be held at Knox United Church on Friday at 1 p.m., with visitation prior to the service from 12 – 12:45 p.m.  A recording of the service will be available for viewing later by visiting the Funeral Home website (www.mccullochwatsonfuneralhome.ca).  Interment of cremated remains will be held in the spring at Mount Forest Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Knox United Church (general fund), the Durham Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
