Death Notice of Irene Chornaby

Irene Mary Chornaby (nee Weber), of Chesley, passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Chesley on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Hugh Chornaby. Loving mother of Dave Chornaby and his wife Patricia, Cheryl Chornaby, Tony Chornaby, and Chris Chornaby and his wife Kim. Cherished grandmother of Matthew and his wife Victoria, Alyssa and her partner Isaiah, Brandon, Kayla and her partner Alex, and Ashley and her partner Goran. Proud great-grandmother of Sienna, Leighton, Charles and Willa. Dear sister of Irvin Weber and his wife Sharon, Evelyn Tanguay and her husband Gaetan, and Earl Weber and his wife Terry. Predeceased by her brothers Leonard, Lloyd and Gerald Weber and her sisters Loretta Rettinger and Velma Ubele.

Irene was an active member at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Chesley and Holy Family Catholic Church in Hanover. Irene owned and operated “Irene’s Take Out” in Galt/Cambridge from 1974 – 1977, where she managed many tasks as a business owner. 

Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 352 10th Avenue, Hanover on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. The service will be live-streamed and available for viewing on www.holyfamily.ca/media/. Interment at Chesley Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Anne’s Catholic Church or Holy Family Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
