Doreen MacCannell

Doreen Janet MacCannell (nee Marshall), of Durham and formerly of Holstein, passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Chesley, surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Beverly MacCannell (2003). Loving mother of Marlene and her husband Cameron McGill of Fergus, Barbara and her husband Douglas McLachlan of Dornoch, Larry MacCannell of Listowel, Donna and her husband Kevin Douma of Allan Park, and Susan and her husband Scott Kalbfleisch of Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Derek (Danielle), Justin, Scott, Ryan, Megan (Tim), Emily (Matt), Amanda (Sandeep), Melissa, Marshall, Rachel (Tyler), Mitchell, Kylah, and Jordyn. Proud great-grandma of Hendrix and Jett. Survived by sister Pearl McCannell of Durham, cherished sister-in-law of Lilabelle MacCannell of Mount Forest and Douglas and Carol MacCannell of Redcliff, Alberta. Predeceased by her parents James and Louisa Marshall, sisters May and the late Charles Hunking, and Myrtle and the late Graham Timmins, brothers Bert Marshall and Bill Marshall and the late Rose, and in-laws Lorraine and Willard Stevenson, Kenneth MacCannell, and Ray McCannell. Also left to mourn are many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Sunday, June 29th from 2 – 5 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Doreen’s life will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 1 p.m., with visitation prior to the service from 12 – 12:45 p.m. Interment at Amos Cemetery, Dromore. 

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
