Jim Weaver

James Arthur Weaver, of Durham and formerly of Owen Sound, passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Hospice – Chapman House on Friday, June 27th, 2025 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Doreen Weaver (formerly Hopkins, nee Ledingham). Dear brother-in-law of Robert Hart and his wife Nancy. Cherished uncle of Kathy Hart and her husband Dan Woods, Andrew Hart, and Jennifer Hart. Jim will be missed by his great nieces and nephews, and by Doreen’s family: her son Craig Hopkins; her daughter Susan and her husband Don Tremble; her daughter-in-law Helen Hopkins and her friend Don Shane; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Dorothy Hart, and Doreen’s son Brad Hopkins. 

Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2nd from 4 – 7 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will be held at the Durham Presbyterian Church, 205 Lambton Street East, Durham on Thursday at 11 a.m. A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound on Friday at 10 a.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations to Chapman House (cheques payable to Grey Bruce Hospice Inc) or Durham Presbyterian Church (general fund) would be appreciated.
