Ruth Cole

Ruth Eleanor Cole (nee Lemon), of Durham, passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Saturday, November 1st, 2025 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Richard “Dick” Cole. Loving mother of John Cole and his wife Cathy, and Jim Cole and his wife Jeanette. Dear grandmother of Sam Revoy and his wife Jenny, Tim Cole and his wife Julie, Jennifer Cole, Nicky and her husband Frank Dusome, and Andrea Cole; great-grandmother of 9, and great-great-grandmother of 4. Predeceased by her brothers John “Jack” Lemon, and Keith Lemon, her sister Helen Goddard, and her good friend Warden Thompson. 

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at the Durham Legion, 271 Bruce Street North, on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1- 4 p.m., with memories being shared at 2 p.m. Interment of cremated remains at Durham Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 308 would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
