Merril McPhail

Merril Arden McPhail, of Durham and formerly of Richmond Hill and Lindsay, passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Beni. Loving father of Michelle McPhail and her husband Brad Schanck, and Rob McPhail and his wife Sue. Cherished grandfather of James Schanck, Jacob McPhail, Noah McPhail, and Lucas McPhail. Dear brother of Rolph McPhail and his wife Eva, and Brian McPhail and his wife Louise. Predeceased by his brother Dr. Neil McPhail and his late wife Laurie.

A funeral service celebrating Merril’s life will be held at the Durham Baptist Church, 293 Lambton Street East, Durham on Saturday, January 31st at 1:30 p.m., with visitation prior to the service from 12 – 1:15 p.m. Spring interment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Durham Baptist Church would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
