Clara McFadden

Clara McFadden (nee Alexander), of Durham, passed away at the Hanover & District Hospital on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” McFadden. Loving mother of Steven McFadden, Gregory McFadden and his wife Sheryl, and Susan and her husband Steve Torrie. Cherished grandmother of Mitchell McFadden and his wife Kinsley, Emily McFadden and her partner Jason Fryfogel, Cody Dixon and his wife Samantha, Curran Dixon and his fiancée Hayley McMillan, Scott Dixon, and Jackalyn Torrie. Great-grandmother of Theodore and Josie Dixon. Sister-in-law of Erma McFadden. Predeceased by her parents R. J. and Clara Alexander, her brother Robert Alexander and his late wife Florence, her sisters Annie Dowsling and her late husband Harry, and Jean and her late husband Norm Wells.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Wednesday, March 11th from 6 – 8 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Clara’s life will be held at the Durham Presbyterian Church, 205 Lambton Street East, Durham  on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Spring interment of cremated remains at the Durham Cemetery Columbarium.
