Death Notice of Ursula McKechnie

Ursula McKechnie (nee Katzke), of Durham, passed away at the Perth Hospital on Sunday, April 12th, 2026 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth McKechnie. Loving mother of Marina Oetelaar, Frank (Anita) Peitz, Caroline Bolduc (Bernie Ohman), Kevin Peitz, and Evelyn Peitz (Kelly Thompson). Mother-in-law of Kari Peitz. Cherished grandmother of Angela (Mike), Michelle (Andrew), Mandy, Michael (Chantal), Brittany (Andrew), DJ (Chesi), Steven (Kat) Amanda (Lealand), Alyssa (Eric), Sara (Nigel), Katie, Sonya, Hannah (Colby), Crystal, Jennifer (Brian), Andy, Jess, Dee (Rob), Emily (Jamie), Samantha (James), Cheyenne (Rhys), and Meaghan (Callum). Great-grandmother of Ashlyn, Oden, Autumn, Arrow, Orion, Brody, Madison, Isaiah, Jackson, Hunter-1, Emery, Brinley, Hailey, Ashley, Cayleb, Chloe, Alexis, Jacob, Phe, Peyton, Maisie, Chase, Ruby, Ash, Chayce, Cheyenne, Landen, Kacey, Aiden, Berkley, Hunter-2, Tabby, and James. Ursula will also be missed by her extended family Lynn and Rita, her sisters-in-law of Adelgarde and Inge, and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Andreas Peitz, her grandson Joedy, her granddaughter Heidi, and her siblings Rosemarie, Winfried, Zigfried, and Hilde.

She will be fondly remembered for her enduring strength, her unwavering Christian faith, her passion for children and long country drives, and her desire to quietly help anyone she could without need for recognition. Her altruistic personality and amiable presence will be deeply missed by so many.

A private graveside service will be held at the Durham Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Foursquare Gospel Church in Durham would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
