Death Notice of Carleen Weppler
Carleen Bernice Weppler (nee Sully) passed away at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, on Monday, April 20th, 2026 in her 92nd year. She was the beloved wife of the late Wes Weppler. Loving mother of Berneice Weppler, Donna Mae Marechal, Elesia Barlotta, Darlene Moss and her husband Guy, and Beth Miller-Stewart. Mother-in-law of Mark Arnfield. Cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Verna Nelson of Bowmanville, Ontario, her brother-in-law William "Bill" Gammon of London, Ontario, and brother-in-law Lawrence (Pattie) of Holden, Alberta. Predeceased by her daughter Sherry Arnfield, her grandson Jake Miller and her siblings Lorraine Austin, Harry Jr “Sonny” Sully, and Geraldine Geisel.
Her faith being so strong it allowed her to tackle whatever came her way. She had many loves on her life’s journey; singing in choirs, volunteering in the Girl Guide movement - best known at camp as “Corky”, at the Renold’s Museum in Wetaskiwin, Alberta - along the side of dad.
She loved family, camping, along with church activities, such as; being a chaperone, gatherings and cookouts. Her health issues were never an issue for her; it just made her more determined in enjoying her life. She took part as a volunteer for many years at the annual ‘Concert in the Country’, held in Millet, Alberta. Her biggest joy was her love for her daughters, being apart of one daughter’s tearoom, ‘Gramma’s Pantry and Tearoom’ and having her very first apartment in Chesley, Ontario. Being an airman’s wife, she was met with many challenges while moving from one end of the country to another, but she enjoyed meeting many wonderful people along the way that she truly enjoyed and treasured. She knew how to pack at a moments notice. She also had a special place in her heart and arms for Canyon, her pup.
A special thank you to the staff and Doctor’s at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, for their loving care and support they gave our mother (their special ray of sunshine) and our family.
A Celebration of Life will be take place at a later date. Interment of cremated remains will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Varney.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to any charity of one’s choice. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
