Glenna Monk

Glenna Hazel Monk (nee Hopkins), of Durham, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 in her 84th year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Robert “Bob” Monk. Loving mother of Lorri Monk of Walkerton, Steve Monk and his wife Julie, and Vicki and her husband Randy McNabb, all of Durham. Cherished grandmother of Jillian and Ryan Reece, Rob Monk and Nicole Roychell, Amanda Monk and Chris Shannon, Kyle and Jessica McNabb, Chantelle and Brandon Galloway, Danielle McNabb, and Mitchell McNabb and Chelsea Sloan. Fondly remembered by her 12 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Marilyn and Archie Lindsay. Sister-in-law of Lorraine Monk, Shirley Scarrow, Edith Monk and Isabelle Nippard, and Gerald and Joyce Monk. Survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her grandson Richard Monk, her parents Lawson and Hazel Hopkins, her brothers Royden, Ken, Don, and Leonard Hopkins, and her sisters Marjorie Caswell and Joy Talbot.

Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Thursday, May 7th from 6 – 8 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Glenna’s life will be held at the Durham Legion, 271 Bruce Street North, Durham on Friday at 11 a.m., with visitation being held prior to the service from 10 - 10:45 a.m. Interment at Durham Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Durham Presbyterian Church (general fund) would be appreciated by the family.
