Death Notice of Glen Edwards

Glen Edwards, loving husband of the late Angele (nee Breland), passed away peacefully with his daughter Lonnie by his side on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026 in his 84th year.

Cherished father of Kevin (Lori), David, Douglas, Lonnie (Alley), and Justin (Meaghan). Proud grandfather of Nathan (Ally), Jillian (Jacob), Tyler, Dylan, Jordan, Ed, Chloe, and Hannah, and great-grandfather of Jackson, Brody, Tatum, Emmett, Emersyn, and Hallie.

Much-loved brother of Donna (Rick) Andreychuk and brother-in-law of Joan Edwards. Predeceased by his brothers, Larry (Janice) Edwards and Stanley Edwards.

Glen grew up on a dairy farm south of Kenilworth. He left the family farm to pursue an apprenticeship as an aircraft mechanic. During busy seasons, he would often return home to help his parents with planting and harvest. While working toward his Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) certification, Glen earned his pilot’s licence in Milton.

Both Glen and his father shared a passion for aviation and performed in aviation stunt shows together. Although Glen dreamed of becoming a bush pilot, life led him in a different direction. Following his father’s passing, he took over the family business, Ace Barn Painting. Through hard work, dedication, and his natural ability to connect with people, he built a successful business and earned the respect and friendship of many farmers throughout the community.

Glen was also actively involved with the Hanover Snowmobile Club, serving as Public Relations Representative. His outgoing personality and easy rapport with people made him a natural fit for the position.

He will be remembered by many for his unique ability to walk up stairs on his hands, his quick wit, and his gift for finding something good in everyone he met. Glen loved welcoming family and friends into his home, where there was always a seat at the table and a warm smile waiting. His kindness, humour, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held at the Durham Cemetery Columbarium where he will be laid to rest with his wife Angele. A come and go celebration of Glen’s life will be held at the home of Kevin and Lori Edwards, 173700 Mulock Road, Hanover on Wednesday, August 5th from 1 – 4 p.m.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
