Thelma Grierson

Passed away on Wednesday, September 21st, 2011 at Rockwood Terrace, Durham, supported with love and care by her family and the excellent staff of Rockwood Terrace. The former Thelma Elfreda Widmeyer, of Durham, in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Nathan Grierson. Loving mother of Fred Grierson and his wife Gerda. Cherished grandmother of Pastor George Grierson and his wife Sue, and Lorne Grierson and his wife Rebecca. Great-grandmother of Erin, Leah, Amanda, Katie and Alex Grierson. Survived by her sister Eva Dickson, and her sister-in-law Wilda Widmeyer. Predeceased by her parents Oscar and Christine Widmeyer of Ayton; her sisters Olena McCallum, Nora Minnie, Verna Widmeyer; her brothers Gordon Widmeyer, Lorne Widmeyer, Guido Widmeyer, Alf Widmeyer; her brother-in-law Bill Grierson; and her sisters-in-law Susie Mountain and Bella Widmeyer.

A celebration of Thelma's life will be held at the Durham Presbyterian Church on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Cremation to follow. Interment of cremated remains will be held at the Durham Cemetery at a later date.
