Death Notice of Art Meerstra

Art slipped away peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham on Monday morning, August 19th, 2013. Ate "Art" Meerstra of Durham was born in Holland on February 10, 1919 he was in his 95th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Wim (nee Jepma) of 62 years. Dear father of Bill and his wife Sheila of Durham, Christine and her husband Jan DeJager of Georgetown, John and his wife Joyce of Papua New Guinea, Walter and his wife Janet of Whitby. Father-in-law of Bill Caram of Niagara Falls. Predeceased by his beloved daughter Jackie Caram. Survived by one brother Johannes Meerstra in Holland. Brother-in-law to George Jepma and his wife Donna of Whitby, and Bill Jepma and his wife Joanne of Fenelon Falls. He is fondly remembered and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by four brothers and one sister in Holland.

Friends may call at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 21st from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. A celebration of Art's life will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to New Tribes Mission of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
