Death Notice of Douglas Roy Morden
Douglas Roy Morden
August 9, 1949 to July 4, 2016
With a broken heart we share that Doug left us all, peacefully and surrounded by love. He wanted his kids Kitson and Jeannine (Oliver) and Alexa and Sam (Mula) to know that they were the world to him. And that was Doug, full of love, heart, fun, and a guy who knew how to make sure everyone had a good time. He loved being the IT guy most recently at IBI, a Lakeshore football official and now farmer, proud member of the West Grey - Durham Lions Club and Durham Curling Club. He was a great friend, a loving father, dearest love and best friend of his wife, Pat, for 47 years. He was the guy we all turned to when something needed fixing or a bit of fun.
Doug's sister Pat Bishop and her family and all the Mordens will miss him greatly, as will Pat's sister Jennifer Jury and her family. We are forever grateful to our friends Jan and Kent Farrow, Cathy and Tom McDowell, Anne and Bob Pritchard, Bob and Anna Marie Timmins, Bob and Heather Kelly and Joyce and Richard Allen. You helped our life be full of joy and ensured it continued that way even as Doug's health changed. Doug was rich in love and friendships and he would not have wanted it any other way.
His daughter Noelle, and his parents Harold and Jean Morden will hold his hands and wipe his tears as he will miss StoneHill, his family and friends so very much. He worked courageously to stay as long as he could. He was loved to bits and gave it back tenfold.
He was so comforted knowing that Dawn McNab of McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home would be the one helping us all on this part of his pilgrimage and that he would be buried at Zion Glenelg Community Cemetery, just down the road from his cherished home, StoneHill.
In his honour we will continue to do our best to put the lime in the coconut and shake it all up!!
