Death Notice of Ursula Drews

Peacefully on Saturday, November 19th, 2016 at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Durham. Predeceased by her husband Erwin "Bob", survived by her son Tom (Claire), daughter Monica (Rob) Caprini, grandchildren Dustin (Stephanie) Drews, Adam (Andjela) & Celina Caprini, and great-grandaughter Avery Drews. Ursula was born on March 28, 1926 in Leipzig, Germany. She and her husband Bob emigrated to Canada in 1953 and initially settled in Toronto. Bob, Ursula and son Tom moved to Grey County in 1960 after purchasing a farm in Holland Township. In 1963 they gave up the farm and started making furniture in a home workshop in Holland Centre. In 1968 Ursula embarked on her nearly forty year career in real estate in Durham, and the family moved to their home on Wilder Lake, where Ursula remained until last year. Ursula will be remembered for her fiercely independent spirit, warmth, generosity, and ready smile. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Durham Hospital and the staff of Serenity in Durham for all their wonderful care over the last year.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 25, 2016 at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, 166 Bruce Street North in Durham at 1:00 p.m. Coffee & dessert to follow.

Memorial donations, if desired, can be made to the Durham & Community Health Care Foundation, or the West Grey Library in Durham.
