Death Notice of Bev Wiggins

Beverley Keith Wiggins passed away at the Hanover and District Hospital on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 in his 86th year. Bev was born in Durham, Ontario to Roy and Gertie (Harrison) Wiggins. He is survived by his sister Gayle (Ron) Magwood, his niece Kelly (Ron) Dow, his nephew Ryan Magwood, his great-niece Kelsey Dow, and his great-nephew Ben Dow. Long time friend and partner of Norine Hamilton. Bev had a very full and fruitful life. He served as mayor of Durham for 3 terms. During his life he owned and operated an oil business, had a taxi business with his dad, was a projectionist at the Durham Theatre, had a stock office in Hanover, and worked as a projectionist at the Hanover Drive-In. Bev then purchased the Hanover Drive-In and Paramount Theatre, Hanover. He took an auctioneer's course and did several sales. He opened a new Chrysler Dealership in Walkerton for a few months. Bev then opened Bison Auto Sales and operated for 35 years, during which he had a hobby farm with Bison. Bev loved music, played the fiddle and he played at several nursing homes.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Bev's life will be held at the Durham Legion on Monday, October 1st, 2018 at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Salvation Army or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
