Death Notice of Ross Taylor

Ross Edward Taylor passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 in his 93rd year. Faithful son, loving husband, inspiring father and grandfather, community member. Ross Taylor is remembered with love by his wife Yvonne (Foley) and children Heidi Taylor (Denis Leclaire), Holly Hathaway (Trevor), Shawn Taylor (Opa), and Sheila Taylor. Ross's love of life and of family carries on in his grandchildren Kyle Hathaway (Anna), Carianne Hathaway (Toby), Shawn Hathaway (Sarah), and Scarlett Taylor, and in great-grandson Grahame. Predeceased by parents John and Annie Taylor, and by brothers John, Warren, and Frank, Ross was born in Toronto and grew up in Ancaster and Alton. As a teenager he was apprenticed to a local beekeeper, laying the foundation for a life-long hobby which continues in the family today. Ross and Yvonne lived and raised their family in Orangeville where Ross worked for Ontario Hydro and was active in community organizations. After retirement they moved in 1987 to Holstein Ontario. He began a second "career" raising sheep and keeping bees, and finding new ways to contribute to community life. In recent years he volunteered with the Mount Forest Museum and Archives, the Holstein Optimist Club, and the Holstein Cemetery Board. Ross brought a warm and positive spirit to everything he did, and he will be missed every day. You will honour the memory of Ross Taylor each time you take pride in your work, savour a spoonful of honey, or extend a helping hand to a neighbour.

A funeral service celebrating Ross's life will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Thursday, December 19th at 1 p.m., with visitation being held prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Spring interment at Holstein Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Community Living Guelph Wellington would be appreciated by the family.
