Death Notice of Edna McLean

It is with saddened hearts but with wonderful memories that we announce the passing of Edna Isabel McLean (nee Noble) on Monday, March 8th, 2021 in her 91st year. Edna passed away peacefully at Chapman House with her children by her side. Beloved wife of the late Archibald John McLean. Lovingly remembered by her son Don and daughter Heather (aka Archie) McLean both of Durham, and her daughter-in-law Kathy of Port Elgin. Proud grandmother of Ryan and Crystal McLean of Durham, Marcia McLean, Louis Nuhn, Adam Rydall and Evan Rydall all of Hanover. Special great-grandmother to Braydon and Grace McLean of Durham, Nicole McLean and Serena Nuhn of Hanover. Survived by loving brother Royden Noble and his wife Sharon of Durham. Edna is also survived by a large number of family members and friends who will miss her. Predeceased by her parents George and Isabel Noble (nee Alexander), her son Bryon, her sister Mary and brother-in-law Louie Emke, and her sister-in-law Jean Noble. After her marriage to Archie she helped on the farm where they raised their three children. After getting hired at St. Raphael's Nursing Home she had the opportunity to fulfill her dreams of becoming a nurse. While working fulltime and attending college she successfully graduated in 1976 with her RNA diploma from Georgian College. Edna enjoyed her time working at the nursing home. After leaving the nursing home she was employed with Red Cross. Edna enjoyed many years of curling at the Durham Curling Club. Edna enjoyed watching curling and the Blue Jays on tv.

As per Edna's wishes there will not be a funeral service. A family graveside service will be held at the Rocky Saugeen Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial donations to Chapman House (cheques payable to Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce), Durham Legion Branch 308, Durham Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
