It is with great sadness we announce that “Ally” lost her battle with cancer at Bethell Hospice, Inglewood on Monday, April 18, 2016 of Durham in her 66th year. Daughter of the late Al and Marg Fawcett. Daughter in-law of Agnes and the late Archie McEachern of Durham. Loving mother of Brock (Christine Priddle) of Georgetown and Claire(Eton McKenzie) of Brampton. Devoted and proud Nana of Marcus and Grace McKenzie. Loved sister of Deborah Fawcett of Mount Forest and Robert Fawcett (Nancy Sinclair) of Markdale and their families. Beloved Aunt and Baa to many nieces and nephews. After receiving her funeral directors license in 1973, being one of two women in her class and a third generation but first women in the Fawcett Family, Allyson and the late Russell McEachern purchased the McTavish Funeral Home and the Radio Shack in Durham in 1978. Allyson successfully owned and operated the Fawcett-McEachern Funeral Home since. The family will receive friends at the Fawcett-McEachern Funeral Home (124 Garafraxa Street, Durham) on Wednesday, April 20 from 7-9pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9pm. Funeral Service from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 308 (271 Bruce Street North, Durham) on Friday at 11am. Cremation to follow with interment in Flesherton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Bethell Hospice, Inglewood, Residential Hospice Grey Bruce, Owen Sound or the Hospice of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
