Barry Thomas McCormick, of RR#2 Priceville, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, May 6th, 2022 in his 76th year.  Devoted husband of Phyllis McCormick (nee Guldner).  Loving father of Shannon and her husband Mike Seifried, Meghan and her partner Shawn Coulter, Rachel and her husband Lee Watson, Tiffany and her husband Nicholas Kelly, Emily and her partner Howard Mattis, and Jonathon and his wife Lindsay.  Cherished Papa of Daniel, Madeline, Abbigail, Jeremy, Ainsley, Zoe, Collin, Everly, Logan, Lincoln, Theodore, Zarah, Zavian, Kayden, Kiyran and Mariah.  Dear brother of Theresa, Rose, William, Marilyn, Chris and Margaret.  Missed by brothers and sisters-in-law, and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews (Uncle Boo-Ray), family and friends.  Predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Marie, and his siblings James, Hugh, Terry, Rita, Kathleen and Peter.

Barry taught for the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board for 30 years at St. Peter’s and later St. Andrew’s Schools.  After retirement he worked as an occasional teacher for the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board for 20 years and became a cherished member of the Crusader Family.

Barry was an avid golfer.  He loved hockey and, after his playing was done, he became the trainer for the Durham Thundercats (where he received his nickname “Bearcat”), and later the Durham Huskies.

He loved his family.  He enjoyed his Sunday suppers, a good drink of “Gibson’s Rare” and a game of euchre.  He loved watching harness racing through the years, first with his brothers, and later with his children and grandchildren.  He passed on his love of music (Lightfoot, Diamond, Nitty Gritty, Blue Rodeo, and the list goes on) to his children.
