Death Notice of Cliff Stubbings

Clifford Allen Stubbings, of RR#1 Markdale, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Leona (nee Thompson) for 62 years. Loving father of Sharon and her husband Mark Wickens, and Allen Stubbings and his partner Suzan. Cherished grandfather of Kenneth Wickens and his wife Lyndsee, Logan Wickens and his wife Emily, and Holly Wickens and her fiancé Nelson Martin. Great-grandfather of Mylee and Jack Wickens. Dear brother of Robert Stubbings. Also missed by his sister-in-law Eileen and her husband Eddy Linton, and by his niece and nephews Natalie, Robert, Jordan, Bruce, and David. Predeceased by his brother William Stubbings, and his sister-in-law Shirley LaFranz. 

Cliff worked for Bell Canada for 35 years as a PBX Repair.  Cliff retired from  Bell Canada in 1991 thus enjoying 32 years at traveling, hunting golfing and time on their farm, with the ability to tell anyone a joke.

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of Cliff’s life will be held at the Durham Legion, 271 Bruce Street North, Durham on Thursday, March 23rd from 2 – 5 p.m., with memories being shared at 3 p.m.  Spring interment of cremated remains at Zion Glenelg Community Cemetery.  

 As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Zion Glenelg Community Cemetery or the Durham Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
